BELMONT, Mich. — While the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted many events, Plainfield Township leaders have come up with a unique way to honor the fallen.

Instead of its traditional event at Veterans Memorial Park each year, the township is transforming its Memorial Day event to a virtual commemoration.

There will be music, a wreath laying and a salute from the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 258.

“This event has become a staple tradition in our township that our residents look forward to each year,” said Plainfield Township Supervisor Robert Homan.

You will be able to watch the event via the township's Facebook page on May 22 to honor the men and women who died while in service.
