GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Bissell Pet Foundation and local animal shelters came together this weekend to help find homes for homeless pets.
This was all for the Empty the Shelters: Holiday Hope event held on Saturday at most shelters across West Michigan, with some getting an early start on Friday.
The organization says about 3,400 pets were adopted during the event across Michigan.
Bissell Pet Foundation sponsors this event, reducing adoption fees to $25 or less.
Some shelters were so overfilled they waived all adoption fees.
The organization has now found homes for more than 30,000 animals since this event started back in 2016.
