IONIA, Mich. — Loved ones will gather today to remember a young boy who passed away this past weekend after a months-long battle with cancer.
The visitation for 5-year-old Peyton Dennis will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., and again from 6 to 8 p.m., today at Lake Funeral Home on South State Road.
Peyton passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, from a rare form of brain cancer known as DIPG. Throughout his battle, which began back in February, the entire community rallied around him, even making him an honorary sheriff's deputy.
Following visitation today, Peyton's funeral will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m.
