Two gunshot incidents and an armed robbery overnight in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids Police responded to two reports of gunshots and one armed robbery in the overnight hours Monday night to Tuesday morning.

The first shooting led to no injuries as bullets struck an occupied building in the 100 block of 1st Street NW around 9:36 p.m. While police found 10 bullet casings, the house was hit just once. Investigators have not identified a suspect.

Another gunfire incident took place around 10:33 p.m., when several houses were hit by bullets in the area of Evergreen Street and Union Avenue SE. And 19 bullet casings were found in the street. There were no injuries and no identified suspect.

In the armed robbery, two people were walking in an alley around 1:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Caulfield SW near Grandville Avenue SW when three people pulled up in a vehicle and robbed the two people at gunpoint. They were described as all males, all in their 20s. There were no injuries, and police got no suspect or vehicle information.
