GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A teenager was taken to the hospital Monday night after he was shot in the leg in Grand Rapids.
The shooting happened around 9:15 p.m. on Giddings Avenue SE between Elliott and Ardmore streets.
The teen told police he was walking with a friend in the area when they heard shots. He was hit once in the leg and ran to a gas station at the intersection of Kalamazoo Avenue and Burton Street, where he was taken to the hospital.
His injury isn’t believed to be life-threatening.
Police are still investigating what led up to the shooting. Information on a suspect or vehicle involved wasn’t immediately available.
