GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Police say a man who likely shot at a fugitive task force agent in Grand Rapids last week has been taken into custody.
Investigators have been searching for Maxamillion Long since last Tuesday, when shots were fired at an agent outside a home on Sherman Street near Dolbee Avenue.
Grand Rapids police said the agent was in the area watching the house in an unmarked vehicle while looking for Long. He saw a vehicle back out of the home and then someone inside fired multiple shots at the agent’s vehicle.
Officers found the suspect vehicle in the incident on Wednesday and took Long into custody around 1:20 p.m. Monday in the area of Breton Road and 44th Street.
Police say they received a tip he was in an apartment in the area and got him to come out without incident.
Long is expected to be arraigned some time in the next couple days. The Kent County Prosecutor’s Office will determine what charges he will be facing.
