GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Santa Claus made a trip around the neonatal intensive care unit at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital to spread holiday cheer to families spending the first holiday with their newborns in the hospital.
Staff members at the hospital prepared the children with fluffy bows, green bibs, red hats and reindeer outfits to pose for photos to commemorate their first Christmas.
Families said the visit from Santa helped them forget they were spending Christmas in the hospital for a bit and gave them a boost.
