The power was out in part of downtown Grand Rapids on Friday morning and afternoon.

The impacted area was around Fulton and College, according to Steve Guitar, a spokesperson for the city of Grand Rapids.

There's was no immediate word on what caused it.

The incident did not appear on Consumers Energy's online outage map.

Consumers initially didn't have information on the outage, a spokesperson told FOX 17.

Crews went to substations to investigate the cause.

Consumers said its system for the area was fine on Friday afternoon, and the outage was likely tied to city of Grand Rapids equipment.

The city investigated and found some circuits down in the area, Guitar said.

He said power was restored to the area, except the Pearl/Ionia parking ramp, as of 1:42 p.m. on Friday.
