GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A 47-year-old man is dead after the vehicle he was riding in crashed into a tree.
This happened at 12:38 a.m. Sunday morning on 32nd Street and Chamberlain Avenue near Samaritas in Grand Rapids.
Authorities say the 39-year-old female driver went off the road and hit a tree. The passenger was not wearing his seat belt and was promptly ejected.
The man was taken to St. Mary's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead due to to his injuries. Meanwhile, the woman suffered a possible broken foot during the crash.
Police say alcohol was a factor that contributed, however the crash still remains under investigation by the Grand Rapids Police Department.
