GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital has launched a joint operating agreement to bring its services to patients in Cadillac and Grayling, according to a news release Friday.

Mary Free Bed will manage the outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy services at Munson Healthcare’s hospitals in those cities.

“Our relationship with leaders and clinicians at Munson Healthcare is expanding, and we couldn’t be happier,” said Kent Riddle, president and CEO of Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. “We’re excited to work together to create new rehabilitation programs and services for northern Michigan residents.”

Mary Free Bed first started working with Munson Healthcare in 2015 and strengthened the relationship with more inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services in 2019.

The transition to Mary Free Bed will allow for expansion of best practices and specialized care for outpatients in the Cadillac and Grayling areas, the company said.

It’ll also bring a greater focus on stroke and brain injury recovery, joint rehabilitation and cognitive pain therapy.
