Man shot while walking near his Grand Rapids home

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A 37-year-old man is in the hospital after being struck by a bullet near his home on Storrs St. near Madison Ave.

Officers were sent to Saint Mary's Hospital where the victim described that he was walking from his home around 12:22 a.m. Sunday morning when he heard gunshots.

He was hit in the upper shoulder near his neck.

Officers found the spot where he was shot and are looking for evidence both there and at the hospital.

There are currently no details about the suspect.

The victim is expected to be ok as police continue their investigation.
