HOLLAND, Mich. — A local group is partnering with area restaurants to help feed front-line workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Feed the Fight Grand Rapids made its second delivery Friday.

A total of 70 meals from James Street Inn Restaurant and Catering were dropped off at Freedom Village Senior Living Community in Holland just in time for lunch.
Using donations, the group purchases meals from local restaurants and then delivers them to frontline workers.

So far, 40 restaurants have signed on to support the cause.

The program first began last month, following inspiration from Feed the fight DC in Washington.

"We're kind of mimicking what they're doing is basically raising funds, purchasing meals from local restaurants to keep them from getting revenue," said local organizer Andy Tabisz.

"Everybody has their own talents and different ways of giving back in this in this crisis and so this is just our way to help."

Feed the fight serves Ottawa, Kent and Muskegon counties and there's a separate group in Kalamazoo.
