Gun Lake Casino donates meals to Degage Ministries for Valentine's Day

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Gun Lake Casino is providing more than 400 Valentine’s Day meals to Degage Ministries, according to a news release Friday.

The meals are meant to be served throughout the day on Friday.

An additional $2,500 contribution was given to help Degage with essential purchases.

“Gun Lake Casino is proud to carry on the beloved tradition of providing winter meals for Degage Ministries,” said Sal Semola, president and chief operating officer of the casino. “This year, we celebrate a 10-year partnership with the organization. Our team takes pride in creating a special menu for those utilizing the services at Degage. We hope our dedication to Degage’s mission brings hope to those in need.”

Freshly-prepared food, an assortment of refreshments, dessert and hand-delivered meals were donated to the ministry’s dining facility.

Gun Lake Casino’s chef, Keenan Fifield, and other member’s of the casino’s food and beverage team prepared the meals for breakfast and lunch.

“Thank you, Gun Lake Casino, for a special Valentine’s Day meal for men and women experiencing poverty and homelessness in the Heartside community,” said Thelma Ensink, executive director for Degage Ministries. “We are so grateful for your ongoing partnership and your commitment to giving back to the community.”
