GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Police Department said Thursday night that a suspect is in custody after a reported assault.
Officers responded to Ransom Tower Apartments on Ransom Avenue NE around 3 p.m. Thursday.
When they got there, officers say the woman who is accused of assault took off into an apartment.
GRPD will not say whether the suspect was armed nor if it was a hostage situation.

FOX 17 is working to figure out whether the suspect surrendered or was forced into custody.
GRPD says the suspect has nonlife-threatening injuries but will not provide any information about the victim of the alleged assault.
