GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) has confirmed that an adult male victim was shot and killed on the 3200 block of Marshall early Sunday morning.
It has been confirmed by Kent County Commissioner Robert S. Womack that Grand Rapids resident Darnell McIntosh (pictured above in the sunglasses) passed away this morning.
Womack honored his late friend in a lengthy Facebook post that his friend will be deeply missed all across the community.
“He loved his family with all his heart,” Womack stated in the post. “We have to stop the violence. Darnell McIntosh RIP. You will always be loved and you will never ever be forgotten! I will see you in heaven, one day. I’m trying to make it there too.”
Officers responded to a call of a shooting and found an adult male with an apparent gun shot wound.
GRPD officers attempted life-saving measures and the victim was transported to an area hospital, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The homicide occurred around 2 a.m. this morning.
