GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Fire Department responded to a house fire on Plainfield Avenue near Sweet Street on Friday night.
Officials confirmed the fire started in the basement of the home. The department did not say what caused the fire or if anyone was inside the house at the time.
We arrived at the scene just after 7:30 and saw a heavy fire department presence in the area.
