GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — In response to Governor Whitmer's extension of the Stay Home, Stay Safe order, the Diocese of Grand Rapids prolonged the cancellation of public Masses and services.

Bishop Walkowiak sent a letter to parishioners saying the extension will last through May 17th, the Sunday directly after the governor's newest order is set to expire.

“I know how extremely difficult this last month without receiving the Eucharist has been." the Bishop wrote. "I thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these uncharted waters. While I wish we could completely reopen and resume our normal lives our Catholic duty is to protect the common good by not spreading a potentially deadly disease.”

The Diocese will continue airing Masses from the Cathedral of St Andrew Sundays at 10 a.m. on FOX 17 as well as live-streamed to their website and social media.
