GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Free food will be distributed to low income residents in Grand Rapids Thursday afternoon by Kent County Community Action.

The distribution will be at 121 Franklin St. SE. People should enter from Jefferson Street, remain in their vehicle, and have their trunks open to accept the food.

The group says they expect to help more than 900 households. That could create a bit of a crush, so the Grand Rapids Police Department will be assisting with traffic control.

Families should be ready to accept about 50 pounds of food, which will include fresh fruit, canned vegetables and fruits, egg noodles, macaroni, port, fish, and more.
