GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Firefighters are investigating a house fire that broke out early Monday morning.
It happened around 6 a.m. at a home on Jennette Avenue between 10th and 11th streets in Grand Rapids.
A resident nearby said she woke up to their neighbors house on fire.
The Grand Rapids Fire Department's chief says a woman in her 40's died after the fire. A man is hospitalized in serious condition.
No word on what sparked the fire but there was a heavy police presence and multiple firefighters were called in to assist.
