GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Charges stemming from the May 31 riot in downtown Grand Rapids have been filed against Haile Wlekidan Abreeham, 21.

Abreeham is accused in one count of riot and one count of entry without breaking with intent to commit a larceny, said the Kent County Prosecuting Attorney’s office in a release.

The charges stem from activities at Preusser Jewelers on Ottawa Avenue near Pearl Street during the riot that followed a protest in downtown Grand Rapids.
