GRAND RAPIDS — As part of a nation-wide COVID-19 memorial in the U.S. Tuesday evening, the Blue Bridge in Grand Rapids was lit up red to remember those who died from coronavirus complications.

The city of Grand Rapids helped to honor the lives lost, posting to Facebook and asking those around the city to light a single candle as part of the #COVIDMemorial.

“To heal, we must remember. It’s hard sometimes to remember, but that’s how we heal,” Biden said Tuesday at an event at the Washington Monument to honor COVID-19 victims. “It’s important that we do that as a nation. That’s why we are here today.”
