GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Annual D.A. Blodgett - St. John's Backpack Drive is online this year, but the need for kids’ school supplies hasn’t gone away.
There are more than 400 kids who need backpacks and school supplies, says D.A. Blodget-St. John’s. The nonprofit provides foster care, residential treatment, and counseling.
You can choose the age of the child you want to help: $25 for a kit appropriate for kindergarten to 2nd grade, $30 for elementary school age, $35 for middle school and high school age, or $1,000 for a kit for an entire classroom.
The drive’s goal is 100 K-2 kits, 100 elementary kits, and 200 6-12 grade kits.
As of July 14, the drive was at 33% of its goal.
