GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A 15-year-old boy was sent to Butterworth Hospital this morning after being shot multiple times on the Northwest side of Grand Rapids this morning.
Officers responded to the multiple gunshots heard around 12:30 a.m. in the 700 block of 11th Street NW.
Witnesses say they heard yelling and then shots fired from down the street.
The 15-year-old was found with gunshot wounds to the chest and leg. He was taken into surgery, where his condition is stable as of 10 a.m. this morning.
Officers located six ammunition casings and discovered one round struck a house on the same street where the initial shots were herard.
GRPD Forensics Services Unit arrived shortly after the shooting, and the Major CasesTeam was notified.
No suspect or vehicle has been located at this time. This incident is currently under investigation.
