1 shot near earlier incident in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — An 18-year-old man was shot while walking near College and Highland in Grand Rapids early Thursday morning.

The man told police a vehicle drove past and shot at him, hitting him in the buttocks, according to a news release.

The incident took place around 12:40 a.m.

Officers found casings and a blood trail in the area.

A family member took the victim to Blodgett Hospital, where he was being treated for survivable injuries.

Police aren’t sure if this shooting is related to another shooting that happened early Thursday morning in the same general area.

The investigation continues.
