JAMESTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A Grand Rapids man was hurt when he tried and failed to pass another driver on a busy highway in Ottawa County.

The Incident happened on M-6 near 8th Avenue in Jamestown Township at around 8:07 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.

The 23-year-old driver was westbound in a 2004 Ford Ranger when he tried to pass a 2008 Subaru, driven by a 34-year-old man from Holland.

That's when deputies say he hit the right front side of the Subaru and lost control, rolling several times through the median and into oncoming traffic.

He was taken to Zeeland Hospital where he is expected to be okay. The other driver was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
