GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The death of a woman in Grand Rapids has been ruled a homicide, according to the Kent County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Grand Rapids police have identified the victim as 45-year-old Yolanda Genean Henderson from Grand Rapids. Her death was caused by a gunshot wound, police say.
The suspect, who was arrested after leading a standoff with police on Sigsbee Street early Wednesday morning, has been identified as Richard Leon Davis, 30. Davis is facing counts of open murder and firearm possession charges.
Davis will be scheduled for arraignment at 61st District Court, according to police.
