GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — An early morning crash involving a car and a motorcycle left downed wires in the street at an intersection on the city's southeast side.

Police say two cars that were allegedly drag racing around 2 a.m. Wednesday wound up crashing near the intersection of Kalamazoo Avenue SE and Burton Street SE.

The crash impacted a telephone pole in the area, police said, leaving wires down across the roadway.

No word on injuries, but we're told a woman, allegedly intoxicated, fled from the scene before police arrived.
