Out-of-state visitors test positive for Coronavirus

Health Department expects spike in new cases

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich. — Two visitors from out-of-state tested positive for Coronavirus over Memorial Day weekend.

According to the Grand Traverse County Health Department, the pair traveled to visit family. The two people both had symptoms of COVID-19, and got tested.

One of them is now in the hospital. The other, along with the 6 members of the family they were visiting, is self-isolating.

Grand Traverse County, along with all of northern Michigan reopened on Friday when the Governor lifted some of the restrictions on businesses.

According to a spokesperson, the County Health Department expects to see a spike in the number of confirmed Coronavirus cases over the next few weeks as more people get out in public.
