BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A nursing home has confirmed that four residents and three staff members have the coronavirus.
The Laurels of Bedford in Battle Creek has seven confirmed cases of the virus as of this morning, according to the Calhoun County Joint Operations Center today.
The residents are in an isolated section of the facility receiving "supportive treatment," or they've been transported to a hospital.
The staff members are off-site and will not return to work until they're "cleared to do so," based on guidelines by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Family members have been informed of the cases by The Laurels.
Residents and staff members at The Laurels are monitored and screened daily for symptoms.
The nursing home is also "working closely" with the Calhoun County Public Health Department.
