MUSKEGON, Mich. — Muskegon County is reporting its third death due to the coronavirus.

The patient was a 64-year-old woman, according to Muskegon County this afternoon.

“We extend our deepest sympathies to her family,” said Kathy Moore, health officer, Muskegon County.

“It is a tragic reminder of how serious COVID-19 is in our community. Residents must stay home to help slow the spread of illness.”

The county has 30 cases of the virus, according to its website.

It has submitted 217 tests, with 158 coming back negative and 29 test results still pending.

The county said residents need to "take precautions, practice prevention and assume potential exposure in public places."
