Michigan reports 6,955 new COVID-19 cases

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 373,197.

The number of cases increased 6,955 from yesterday, when there were 366,242 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Yesterday, the state reported 5,793 new cases.

The state says this afternoon there have been 9,405 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased 81 from yesterday, when there were 9,324 deaths. Yesterday, the state reported 190 new deaths.

Statewide, 165,269 people have recovered from the virus as of Nov. 25. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."

In the U.S., there are 13,805,573 cases, and there have been 272,052 deaths — while 5,226,581 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
