(WXYZ) — There are 463,406 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Michigan and 11,532 total deaths, the state reported Monday.
That's a two-day increase of 4,551 cases. The average number of new confirmed cases is approximately 2,275 per day.
Additionally, the state reported 71 new deaths over Sunday and Monday.
Entertainment venues were able to open back up in metro Detroit at midnight Monday morning after a partial shutdown that lasted just over a month.
On Friday, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Director Robert Gordon announced a new epidemic order, but the order did not include the continued closure for entertainment venues like movie theatres, casinos, bowling alleys and more.
Indoor dining does remain halted through at least Jan. 15, under the latest order.
