LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 63,870.
The number of cases has increased 373 from yesterday, when there were 63,497 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services. Yesterday, the state reported 236 new cases.
The state says there have been 5,947 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.
The number of deaths has increased 32 from yesterday, when there were 5,915 statewide deaths. Yesterday, the state reported 4 new deaths.
Statewide, 51,099 people have recovered from the virus as of June 27. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."
In the U.S., there are 2,618,480 cases, and there have been 126,628 deaths — while 705,203 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
