The first person who tested positive for the coronavirus in Ottawa County has been discharged from Holland Hospital.
The patient will now be followed by the Ottawa County Department of Public Health, according to the hospital today.
She's middle-aged and doesn't have a history of travel, according to a previous FOX 17 report.
"We were prepared to care for Ottawa County’s first positive patient and all appropriate protocols were followed, including protocols for staff caring for the patient," Holland Hospital said.
Holland Hospital said it understands the discharge may cause "elevated levels of concern for our community, but we ask that the community remain calm."
The hospital is continuing to work closely with the county, state and CDC to "follow all protocols to mitigate the spread."
The community can see coronavirus updates from the hospital here, as well as call its COVID-19 Hotline at 616-394-2080 to talk with a nurse about symptoms, risks and testing.
