GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Chief Eric Payne has received his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at Mercy Health Saint Mary’s today, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department.
The police department made the announcement on Facebook this afternoon.
They say the vaccine is not required to be taken among employees at the police department, but most staff members are expected to receive the vaccine at some point.
“There is a lot of hype and misinformation out there,” says Chief Payne. “I encourage everyone to do some research and then make the best decision for themselves and the community.”
