GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — There are no symphony performances in halls across the world, but the Grand Rapids Symphony is performing on YouTube.
The symphony didn’t just post a previously recorded performance: 70 symphony musicians recorded their own performances at home, and the individual tracks were edited for the video.
The result: A virtual performance of the “Hallelujah Chorus” of Handel’s “Messiah” that you can view on YouTube and the symphony’s Facebook page.
The symphony is already providing daily solo performances by Grand Rapids Symphony musicians, posted on YouTube and Facebook each day at 9 a.m. through the end of April.
