67,237 coronavirus cases confirmed in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 67,237.

The number of cases has increased 610 from yesterday, when there were 66,627 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Yesterday, the state reported 454 new cases.

The state says there have been 6,015 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased 10 from yesterday, when there were 6,005 statewide deaths. Yesterday, the state reported 30 new deaths.

Statewide, 52,841 people have recovered from the virus as of July 5. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."

In the U.S., there are 3,022,899 cases, and there have been 131,857 deaths — while 936,476 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
