As hundreds gathered on the Michigan capitol lawn Wednesday for "Operation Haircut" in support of an Owosso barber who refused to close his business as ordered by the state, some took home $1,000 citations.

Michigan State Police handed out four citations for disorderly conduct to protesters. According to a tweet from MSP, approximately 350 protesters turned out to the event put on by the Michigan Conservative Coalition.

"All individuals engaging in haircuts are being educated on the law," a tweet from MSP read at the start of the protest. "Those who do not comply will be cited for disorderly conduct. All citations will be forwarded to the AG’s Office for review."
