ALLEGAN, Mich. — The coronavirus outbreak has reached Allegan County.

The first presumptive positive case is an 85-year-old, according to the Allegan County Health Department this afternoon.

The patient is currently hospitalized.

They were tested yesterday.

The department said it is "actively investigating" any of the patient's close contacts and contacting them to go on home quarantine.

“The community has done a great job of applying social distancing and personal hygiene habits," said Angelique Joynes, health officer, Allegan County.

"Please continue to be diligent, so we can slow the spread of COVID-19.”
