126,358 coronavirus cases confirmed in Michigan

LASNING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 126,358.

The number of cases increased 780 from yesterday, when there were 125,578 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Yesterday, the state reported 891 new cases.

The state says there have been 6,788 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased seven from yesterday, when there were 6,781 deaths. Yesterday, the state reported 19 new deaths.

Statewide, 95,051 people have recovered from the virus as of Sept. 25. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."

In the U.S., there are 7,303,914 cases, and there have been 208,304 deaths — while 2,860,650 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
