123,633 coronavirus cases confirmed in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 123,633.

The number of cases increased 898 from yesterday, when there were 122,735 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Yesterday, the state reported 1,308 new cases — over Sunday and Monday.

The state says there have been 6,751 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased 20 from yesterday, when there were 6,731 deaths. Yesterday, the state reported eight new deaths — over Sunday and Monday.

Statewide, 95,051 people have recovered from the virus as of Sept. 25. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."

In the U.S., there are 7,168,048 cases, and there have been 205,547 deaths — while 2,794,608 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
