120,526 coronavirus cases confirmed in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 120,526.

The number of cases increased 929 from yesterday, when there were 119,597 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Yesterday, the state reported 982 new cases.

The state says there have been 6,708 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased eight from yesterday, when there were 6,700 deaths. Yesterday, the state reported eight new deaths.

Statewide, 85,513 people have recovered from the virus as of Sept. 11. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."

In the U.S., there are 7,005,746 cases, and there have been 203,240 deaths — while 2,710,183 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
