113,863 coronavirus cases confirmed in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 113,863.

The number of cases increased 680 from yesterday, when there were 113,183 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Yesterday, the state reported 571 new cases.

The state says there have been 6,623 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased 11 from yesterday, when there were 6,612 deaths. Yesterday, the state reported 11 new deaths.

Statewide, 85,513 people have recovered from the virus as of Sept. 11. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."

In the U.S., there are 6,610,352 cases, and there have been 196,349 deaths — while 2,495,127 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
