LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 113,183.
The number of cases increased 571 from yesterday, when there were 112,612 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Yesterday, the state reported 1,088 new cases — over Sunday and Monday.
The state says there have been 6,612 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.
The number of deaths has increased 11 from yesterday, when there were 6,601 deaths. Yesterday, the state reported 10 new deaths.
Statewide, 85,513 people have recovered from the virus as of Sept. 11. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."
In the U.S., there are 6,585,763 cases, and there have been 195,275 deaths — while 2,477,942 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
