LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 104,395.
The number of cases increased 685 from yesterday, when there were 103,710 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Yesterday, the state reported 524 new cases.
The state says there have been 6,519 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.
The number of deaths has increased 10 from yesterday, when there were 6,509 deaths. Yesterday, when the state reported 14 new deaths.
Statewide, 76,151 people have recovered from the virus as of Aug. 28. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."
In the U.S., there are more than 6,137,974 cases, and there have been 186,436 deaths — while 2,231,757 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
