BROWNSTOWN, Mich. (WXYZ) — A child is recovering after being thrown from a vehicle during an early morning crash on southbound I-75 and Sibley Road on Saturday, Dec. 19.

The crash happened around 3:10 a.m.

A pickup truck allegedly hit a minivan, causing the rear hatch to open. The child, who was lying across the rear bench seat, was ejected from the vehicle, police said.

The child then became trapped underneath the vehicle. Brownstown Firefighters were on the scene to remove the child, who was then taken to a local children's hospital and reportedly suffered only minor injuries.

It's unclear at this time the child's age.
