1. A new hotel is popping up in West Michigan. The Ada House will go in on River Street across from Legacy Park.

The three-story building will feature 24 rooms, a restaurant and bar area, and will be open to weddings and private events.

Developers say they're using the history of the Village of Ada to inspire their plans.

Work is expected to begin later this year, and will take up to a year and a half to complete.

The hotel will employ between 30 and 40 people once it opens.

2. The butterflies will soon be blooming at Frederik Meijer Gardens.

More than 7,000 butterflies made up of 60-tropical species will be flying freely inside.

The butterflies bring in about 185,000 visitors each year. The exhibit is included with admission and runs through April 30.

3. ArtPrize is still a few months out, but starting next week, businesses can register to become official venues.

Registration begins Monday and runs through April 2.

Any venue within the ArtPrize District can apply .

They can also submit applications for grants to support their display spaces, there is $90,000 in total grants available.

ArtPrize returns to downtown Grand Rapids on September 16.

4. If you like free food and cheesecake, you may love what the Cheesecake Factory is cooking up.

Place an order totaling $15 or more, then the restaurant will throw in a free slice of cheesecake.

The offer is good on weekdays through March 25 if you enter the code LUNCHSLICE.

On top of that, DoorDash is offering free delivery on Cheesecake Factory orders during the same period.

You can still get the deal if you pick up your food, just as long as you place the order through DoorDash.

5. Do you think you could sink a 94-foot putt? One 84-year-old in Mississippi did!

Mary Ann Wakfield was given the opportunity to win a new car if she was able to make the putt across the entire length of the court at the University of Mississippi's basketball stadium.

The crowd at Old Miss erupted into loud cheers when the putt went in.

Wakfield walked away with a 2020 Nissan Altima from a local dealership.
