Families aren't the only ones getting prepared for back to school, Kids' Food Basket also has a plan in place to provide meals to hungry kids across West Michigan.
Since children no longer have the safety net of school and school meals, Kids' Food Basket is needed now more than ever. Kids' Food Basket has been on the front line providing meals to children from low-income families since schools closed back in March.
Kids’ Food Basket is currently distributing healthy and nutritious meals to 70 distribution sites in Kent, Ottawa, Allegan and Muskegon counties. Since March 13, they have served over 350,000 emergency meals to families struggling during the COVID-19 crisis.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the rising costs of food, Kids' Food Basket has experienced a 66 percent increase in our meal costs.
Kids’ Food Basket is a charitably funded organization and depends on the generosity of the West Michigan community.
