Governor Whitmer announced schools may resume in-person learning as part of Phase 4 of the Michigan Safe Start Plan.

On June 30 the governor's office will release Michigan's Return to School Roadmap.

It will shed light on the requirements that will need to be in place for schools to start in the fall.

Governor Whitmer said on Wednesday the plan is designed with safety in mind and driven by data.

The Food and Drug Administration has approved a new video game to act as a prescription for kids with ADHD.

"Endeavor Rx" was created by Akili Interactive Labs and is aimed at helping 8-12-year-olds with certain types of ADHD to improve cognitive functioning.

The game went through seven years of clinical trials with scientists monitoring 600 children.

Researchers found that about 35 percent of kids showed fewer symptoms of ADHD. When they played for 25 minutes a day, for five days a week over a month-long period.

The City of Grand Rapids is launching a new program to find work for young people living in the area called Grow 1000.

Dozens of local businesses and organizations are partnering with the city to hire 1,000 people between the ages of 15 and 21.

The program will prioritize certain zip codes with disadvantaged residents, and those impacted by coronavirus. Applicants only need to show proof that they live in the
city, and are eligible to work.

Residents can make up to $1,500 during the program, which runs July 13 through August 21.

As the first day of summer is getting closer and the warmer weather is here, there's a simple way to deal with the heat for those who don't have a pool in the back yard. It's called a stock tank pool.

It's commonly used as a trough for farm animals, but they are also an affordable backyard splash pad.

According to Tractor Supply Company, using stock tank pools this way has been gaining popularity recently.

You can let it stand alone above ground, install it as an in-ground pool, or even have it incorporated into a porch. It only costs a couple of hundred dollars.

Fishermen say a bad day fishing still beats a good day at the office. Today, they'll have an extra excuse to swap work for baiting a hook on National Go Fishing Day.

To celebrate it, just drop a line in your favorite lake, river, or whatever body of water floats your fishing boat. Or do the same thing from the shore and have fun.
