Bark in the Dark
The Bark in the Dark event festivities will begin on Saturday, October 3 with an in-person kickoff at HSWM. This event will be an opportunity for you to pick up your wag bag, visit fun sponsor booths, sign up to walk or run in the Dog Day Out program, and even meet some adoptable dogs.
The week following the kickoff there will be fun daily themes, voting for the pet costume contest, virtual check-ins, and tons of excitement. Each participant will have the opportunity to pledge to walk the distance of their choice and fundraise from their network to support their efforts and the animals at HSWM.
Tickets cost $35 for adults, $15 for ages 5-21, and kids under 5 are free. Tickets may be purchased online at barkinthedark.org or by calling (616) 791-8089.
Baby Ready Pets – Online Seminar
Did you know that one of the most common reasons for surrendering an animal is incompatibility with a new baby?
If you or are a partner are expecting and have pets, our Baby-Ready Pets seminar is for you! We'll teach you how to start preparing your home and provide tips for making this big life transition as easy as possible for you, your pets, and your baby!
The seminar will be held via Zoom on September 26 at 10 a.m. Registrants will receive a Zoom link prior to the seminar date.

Bissell Empty the Shelter Event
Join HSWM October 1-3 for Empty the Shelters! All adult dogs, cats, and small animals will have reduced adoption fees thanks to Bissell Pet Foundation!
